Punjabi Wadi Curry

What You'll Need

4 punjabi wadis
1 potato cut in cubes
3 tomatoes, make puree
1 tsp grated ginger
1 tsp cumin seed
1/2 tsp red chili powder
1/2 tsp turmeric powder
1 tbsp coriander powder
1/4 tsp garam masala
Salt to taste
2 tbsp oil
2 tablespoon coriander leaves


  1. Break the wadis into small pieces and shallow fry them in 1 tablespoon oil. Set aside.
  2. Heat another tablespoon of oil in a pressure cooker. Add cumin seeds and let it splutter. Add ginger and tomato puree. Add all the spices and cook till oil separates from the masala.
  3. Add the potato and fried wadis to the curry base and 3 cups of water, cover and let it cook for 10 minutes on low flame after first whistle.
  4. Garnish with coriander leaves.
  5. Serve with roti, paratha or with rice.
